In short, yes, the Flight Examiner Directory will always be free for both examiners and visitors.
Hosting this website costs time and money (around $500py in software and hosting costs), and I am still hoping to find a sponsor. If a company you know would like to display banner ads on the “News” or “IFR Notes” page, please get in touch.
In the meanwhile, I ask Flight Examiners listed on the site to submit a voluntary contribution of $15py to contribute to the running costs (send to PAYID 0410 812 333 or WISE). “
You have the choice of making your phone number and email address public. However if you want to keep your contact details private, your profile page will have a custom contact form. We will configure the contact form to send to your email address. That way the general public can contact you without seeing your address (it’s not great to have your address on display on the internet as it increases spam). This is a fully automatic process and the site admin will not see any messages being sent to you through the contact form.
There is no centralised Australian Flight Examiner list, therefore it’s hard to find and be found, other than through contacts and word of mouth. By providing your details to www.flighttest.net I will list your details for free and help you be found by potential customers, who can send you an email via the contact form.
I will have to create your page on the website manually, so it might take me a few weeks to get around to it. I only log in to the system once I have a few things on the to-do list. Thank you for your patience. Once it’s done, I will alert you and you should check that everything works correctly including the contact form.
Please send me feedback of what you think would be useful to the Flight Examiner community as well to Australian pilots! You can insert your feedback below.
